With each step of therapy we move closer to our goals that we set individually for each child. Talk to us about your goals and together we can make it happen!
Daylight savings time begins this weekend, don’t forget to move your clocks forward one hour!

We know that even an hour difference can be a big adjustment for our friends. We suggest moving sleep and wake times gradually. Maybe take the next few days to move this time in 15 minute increments.

That means it’s time for Spring Break for some of us. Traveling too far can be difficult for some of our friends so we want to give you some ideas that are closer to home. The Fort Wayne Botanical Conservatory is a fun place to explore and offers kid friendly exhibits. A weekday movie matinée can be a good idea especially on sensory friendly showings! Up for a small road trip? Check out the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. Weekdays are typically less crowded and, as always, know your limits and take breaks when needed.
Let’s get the playdough out and have some fun!

Your child can let their creativity take over and build something great! Do they love dolls? Make dresses for them out of the dough. Build a snowman and give him arms and a face. The options are limitless so have fun and be creative with them!
Learning things like independence and self care are so important and can seem like a far reach when they are little.

Starting small with a specific job at home can be a great step forward! Learning to take their plate into the kitchen after a meal. Putting their backpack in the same place everyday. Feed the pet. All of these small tasks will give them a very important job (which boosts self esteem) and also teaches them responsibility. We’re all about building on skills and making them fun! Talk with us if you would like some more pointers on how to keep the progress going at home!
First of all, welcome!

“When looking for a school or center for a child with autism, the resources are limited when a typical school environment is not functional for your child. We came upon Child’s Play Autism Center and immediately fell in love with the one-on-one interaction for our daughter. Not only does she get one-on-one ABA therapy in her own private therapy room, she also has the opportunity to interact with other students. There are so many areas for her to “play” and learn. There is a music area, pretend play area, gross motor area, sensory area, kitchen area and so much more. She gets the chance to go shopping at the grocery store to work on social behaviors as well as takes trips to the mall. And she goes out to lunch to work on her social and public goals. All of the staff is amazing and is in constant communication as to how my daughter is doing. They are all so supportive! My daughter has excelled greatly since beginning at Child’s Play Autism Center!!! I am so thankful they are here in Ft. Wayne!” – Parent Review
Happy Valentines Day from all of us at Child’s Play!
